At least we beat Saint-Lambert. Sad sacks.

Quebec may be known for its joie de vivre, but times are looking bleak for the province’s biggest city — at least as far as the Happiness Index is concerned. According to a new study of 61,350 Quebecers by Léger Marketing, Montreal is the 96th happiest city in Quebec. The study compiled the results from the Leger Happiness Index, which includes 25 factors, such as love, achievement, health, family and money. Montreal’s Happiness Index Score (IBL) was 67.71; the average IBL in Quebec was 69.65.
According to the poll, the happiest city in Quebec is Shefford, with an IBL of 81.88, followed by Gaspé at 79.76, and Dollard des Ormeaux at 78.07. Quebec City’s ranking was not much higher than that of Montreal, with an IBL of 69.11.
